6.01 Intro to EMS Operations

Welcome to EMS Operations. This module is short and covers the highest yield material for the exam. We chose not to go over the ins and outs of driving an ambulance and traffic laws or how to fly a helicopter. We also don’t include information on search and rescue. These are things that we think you can learn without our help and also topics that some EMS professionals will need to know and others won’t.

The most important thing in EMS operations is understanding how to approach every EMS situation and to recognize the big picture of scene assessment and response. If you have specific questions on anything we don’t cover. Don’t hesitate to shoot us an email or message us on Facebook or YouTube. In this module, we will cover scene assessment, incident command, and mass casualty incidents. For a review of toxicology and hazmat check out our toxicology lecture under the medical module. So let’s finish off our course with some high-yield topics in EMS operations.
